Haruko Nagata: Narrating Flowers, Confronting Individuality

2023.11.13 – 11.25

KOUICHI FINE ARTS is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, “Haruko Nagata – Narrating Flowers, Confronting Individuality”.

Flowers, in their modest and supple way, seem to stitch through the fabric of everyday human existence. Haruko Nagata’s portrayal of flowers appears to capture this essence. While appreciating the beauty of flowers in their fullest form, her work also poses profound questions about the meaning of life amidst the current plight of our planet. Haruko Nagata will be present at the gallery on the first day, November 13th (Monday), and on November 18th (Saturday). We look forward to welcoming you to this contemplative and evocative exhibition.

Artist’s Statement about Drawing Flowers:

“Continuously focusing on flowers as my motif, I have increasingly moved away from concrete forms. This shift emphasizes the space surrounding the flowers, aiming for a more symbolic representation. My hope is that these images resonate within the viewers’ hearts. The new collection of flowers debuting in this gallery space is filled with a quiet tension and joy.” – Haruko Nagata
