KUBOTA KENJI

Kenji Kubota studied at Kyoto City University of Arts, majoring in painting (currently lacquer technology), but he also began to produce  the support by himself from the middle of his studying at university. He still operates all steps by myself. Kubota mainly uses Japanese Zelkova, Tochi, Sakura, Kaede, etc. to make furnitures by himself and finish them with lacquer. He has created a wide range of chairs, benches, tables, stools, desks, etc. with beautiful forms, combining wood and wood without using any nails. By using rubbed lacquer furnitures for a long time, the wood grains become even more beautiful. Recently, the small chairs that is useful for wearing boots at the front door are also popular.
