YAMAMOTO NORIKO

PROFILE

drawing Noriko Yamamoto

Noriko Yamamoto is a Japanese artist based in Bremen, Germany.

She raises the question to people by creating works with the concept “Not everything you see is what it appears to be. Are you sure of what you are seeing? What you see may not be everything, but only a part.”

As an artist who produces conceptual works, she first decides the theme of works, then produces them using various expression styles. She produces works such as planes, three-dimensional objects, and video works. However, she has a variety of styles in her works, there is a sense of unity and the concept remains stable on overall her works.

Reading of the parable of ‘the Blind Men and an Elephant’ originated in the ancient Indian subcontinent inspired Noriko Yamamoto’s production.
